  A Look Back Before I Launch Forward By Emily Rose Wood | Revolution Photography My photography story didn’t start with a brand. It started with a heartbeat. I picked up my first camera in 2001, just a kid chasing curiosity. By 2007, I had my first digital camera—and in 2011, everything clicked. I fell hard for photography and dove headfirst into self-teaching, light-chasing, and storytelling. In 2013, I bought my first DSLR and started capturing everything I could: the ocean, travels, maternity joy, landscapes full of emotion. But in 2015, I put the camera down. I didn’t know my “why” anymore. For years, I struggled to pick it back up. Life felt uncertain. Art felt far away. Then in 2018, everything shifted again. I married my high school boyfriend, and I became a bonus mom. Suddenly, I wasn’t just rediscovering my creativity—I was rediscovering  myself . I had forgotten my “why,” but he never did.
